Yale Secondary Softball Academy Open House |
In grade 8-11? Love Softball? Like to work hard and compete day in and day out? Have a desire to take your softball to the next level or get a college scholarship? Want to receive instruction from University, Professional and National team players as well as Dave Paetkau, Assistant Coach of the Team Canada Women's Softball team? Or just want to stay in softball shape in the off season? The Yale Secondary Softball Academy just might be the thing for you! We will be hosting an Open House for any softball players grades 8-11 at the Yale Gym Saturday January 28th from 1-3:30. Parents can come along with the athletes to see what our program is all about as the girls go through a day at the Yale Softball Academy training session. There will also be a school tour and parent information session discussing things such as plans for next year, what we are all about, academic expectations, transportation and cross catchment enrollment and how your daughter can become a part of our academy. The instructors will be there as well as the Academy directors to answer any questions you may have. Please bring clean runners, water and your softball equipment. Any questions can be directed to Jen Schreyer at

Yale Secondary Branches Out! |
|

A group of Yale Secondary students hosted a turkey luncheon with all the trimmings on Saturday, January 14th for residents from Hallmark Retirement Living. Many stories were shared and a great time was had by all. This event, which will become a tradition, is one of many this year in which Yale students branch out and connect to their community by giving back. Last month grade 9 students spread some Christmas cheer to the seniors of Bevan Lodge and volunteered working Christmas Kettles for the Salvation Army. As well, grade 11 and 12 students fundraised and were found throughout Abbotsford supporting the Street Outreach Program (Community Services) in which they raised $1000 as well as clothing and hygiene products for homeless youth in our community. The leadership classes are now working on a Global Project in which they will be raising money for Free the Children to build a water sanitation program in Kenya. |
