Yale defeats Marriott to win third straight provincial championship!

champs_2

Yale will raise a third provincial championship banner to the rafters of ARC as they defeated Earl Marriott Secondary for the 2nd straight year.  Earl Marriott, who boasts a solid rep calibre hockey academy, came out hard in front of a sold out Langley Sportsplex Tuesday night, scoring the first goal from Seattle Thunderbirds draft pick Jarrett Smith.  Yale quickly tied it with a goal from Matt Revel.  The Mariners took the lead once more, which was answered again by Yale by Michael Holub.  Late in the 2nd period Austin Edwards scored a beautiful one-timer set up by Jake Virtanen giving Yale their first lead heading into the third period.  JJ Virtanen added the "dagger" scoring top right corner which was followed by two more goals by Matty Revel.

Yale has completed the "threepeat" and look forward to defending their title next year.
