UBC Phi Delta Theta
Value: Est. $3000 housing scholarships. For male students - free housing for one year in PDT fraternity house. Deadline is May 15, 2008.

APEG (Professional Engines and Geoscientists of BC)
University Entrance Award - Value: $2500. For students entering engineering at UBC, UVIC, SFU or UNBC.
Engineering Transfer Award - Value: $1000. For students taking an Engineering Transfer program at a B.C. college.
Deadline: June 30, 2008

College and University Foodservice-Hospitality Entrance Scholarships
Applicants must be graduating from high school this year and enrolling in September 2008 in a university degree program or a minimum 2 year college diploma program in Canada in the following areas of study: culinary, hotel, tourism, events, food and beverage, hospitality, resort. Deadline April 30, 2008. Applications may be submitted online at www.chfscholarships.com

B.C. Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association Scholarship Award
$500. awards are open to any student who graduates from the BC public school system and proceeds to a post-secondary institution. There are 3 categories of applications: non-members, members and First Nations. Deadline Sept. 10, 2008

Dr. Alex B. Patterson Memorial Scholarship
For a student graduating from grade 12 who will go on to further studies in Political Science or Social Studies.

 

Abbotsford Community Foundation Scholarship & Bursary booklets are now available!!!!

Grade 12’s were given the booklet and application information for the ACF Scholarships and Bursaries Monday Feb 18, 2008. These are the awards that are given out at grad each year. There are over 150 different awards in the booklet and only one application form is needed. The deadline (no exceptions please) is Thursday March 6 at 3:00 pm. The complete package must be delivered to a counselor so it can be signed as received before the deadline. Any students who missed the presentation should pick up the application information at the counselling centre.

 

Monsanto Opportunity Scholarship
Value: $1500 For students from farm backgrounds who wish to study agricultural sciences or forestry. More info at www.monsanto.ca Applications must be post-marked no later than May 16, 2008

Prospera Jump Start Program
Prospera Credit Union has a a couple of awards for students who have been members of Prospera for a year or more. Applications at www.prospera.ca

Low Top Scholarship
Value: $1500. Based on academic achievements, financial need and involvement in the community.

Cross Trainer Bursary
Value: $1000. Open to students pursuing post-secondary education in the fields of Athletics, Fine Arts or Culture.
Return all applications to a branch of Prospera Credit Union before the end of March 2008.

Royal Bank Financial Lifeskills Scholarships

Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers National Scholarship Program

Value: 16 @ $2000 For members of Envision Financial (since July 1, 2007). Applications in the counselling centre and any branch of Envision Financial. Due: April 1, 2008

University of Lethbridge Merit Scholarship

Value: varied. For students with financial need. Minimum average 80%. Due March 15, 2008


Alumni Leadership Scholarship
Value: $1000-$2000. For students who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in extra-curricular activities and in their communities. Deadline March 15, 2008


Harrison McCain Scholarship/Bursary
Value: $4000 (a year for 4 years). Need, initiative, 80% average. Deadline March 1, 2008


University of Victoria Entrance Awards
The University of Victoria has increased the number and amount of scholarships. Check http://registrar.uvic.ca/safa for more info. Deadline February 28, 2008.

Come to Campus award
Every UVic Entrance Award winner (90% average) who lives outside of Vancouver Island will receive a $1000 grant to help with travel expenses.

University of Alberta Awards
Scholastic Distinction

Leadership Award

Garfield-Weston Merit Scholarship

BC Association of Health-Care Auxiliaries
Value: $1000. For students with significant volunteer service in a health-related facility who are entering the health-care field. Due March 31, 2008.

B C Hockey Scholarships

BC Roadbuilders/ Betty Spalton Scholarships

BC School Superintendents Association Essay Scholarship

Jessie's Hope YouTube video contest

UCFV President's Entrance

UCFV Trades Entrance

Explore
The B.C government offers a bursary covering room, board and tuition for a five week French immersion program. Grade 11 and 12 students are eligible. Go on-line at www.cmec.ca/olp or speak to your French teacher.

UBC Major Entrance Awards
Information is now available in the counselling centre. Students must be nominated by the school for all these awards so sign up if you are applying to UBC and think you're qualified. Sign up before January 9 to be nominated. The awards include

University of Western Ontario National Scholarships
For Canadian citizens/permanent residents with a 90%+ average who plan to attend Western. The awards require nomination by the school so sign up on Ms Watson's door if you'd like to be considered. Sign up before January 23, 2008.

SFU Surrey Entrance Award
For students enrolling in one of the SFU programs on the Surrey campus. There are awards worth $2000 for students who show strong academic and community achievement. (with academic averages between 80-89% - higher averages qualify for other awards). Bring completed application package to your counsellor before February 29, 2008. Toyota Earth Day Scholarship
For students showing environmental commitment, community service and leadership. Value $5000. Due Jan 31, 2008

University of Victoria Early Admissions
Students who apply to UVic and self-report their grade 11 marks before November 30 will receive an admissions decision almost immediately. Final marks between 85%-89% will receive conditional admission. Marks of 90%+ will receive a guaranteed scholarship of $1000.

Rock the Bottom Line contest
For students 15 or over who complete the Rock & a Hard Place financial game and answer questions on-line. More info at www.fundyourfuture.ca/rock. Enter before Dec 15, 2007. $1000 cash prize.

Soroptomist award

Millennium Excellence Award

These entrance awards go to students who have shown good citizenship, academic achievement, capacity for leadership and interest in innovation. The awards (there are 1052 in total) are worth $4000. University of Guelph Entrance Scholarships
These awards worth $26,000 are intended for studens with high academic achievement and proven leadership ability who are applying to Guelph. You must be nominated by the school. Sign up on the list on Ms Watson's door if you wish to be nominated.

LORAN award (formerly the CMSF National Award)

This chart of awards contains scholarships and bursaries that sent application information to Yale Secondary last year. There is a brief description of due dates, qualifications and award value as well as, in most cases, an internet link.

You can download the Excel file and print it out to make a chart identical to the one posted outside the counselling centre. That chart will be up-dated when new applications arrive. Any application packages we receive will be put out on the scholarship table in the counselling centre.
