Welcome Back!

Message from the Chair of the Abbotsford Board of Education

This has proven to be an amazing summer full of activities and events for families and the greater community to enjoy! We truly are blessed to live in such a vibrant and connected community. In addition to the many options for education, camps and outdoor recreation, we also had the special privilege of being a major sponsor and partner in hosting the BC Summer Games. It was wonderful to see so many of our young athletes, their families and the rest of the community gather together in support of this multi-sport opportunity to showcase the best young talent in BC. It also provided many ways for the community and our amazing school district personnel to interact with each other over the summer.

While our students have been enjoying the summer break, many of our teachers and staff have been preparing for the start of school. With the new curriculum that has been rolling out over the last year, we are seeing even more ways for our students to connect with their learning through experiential and project-based learning opportunities. Our teachers have been challenged with a change and they are rising to the occasion by sharing their expertise with each other and working collaboratively to build the best learning environments for our students. When students are excited to learn because their experience is both relevant and inspiring they are motivated and own their own learning. These are the classrooms our school district is striving to provide for each and every one of our students.

It is with great anticipation that we welcome you back. The Abbotsford School District remains committed to continuous improvement for our students and providing safe and supportive environments for all. We look forward to a year full of growth, new experiences, and accomplishments for all!
